Coming Up In London This May

It’s safe to say that life is slowly resuming back to normality here in the UK. Over the last month, we’ve enjoyed outdoor dining, met with friends, and slowly returned to our workplaces in a bid to boost both self-morale and the greater economy.

We have so much to look forward to. The country is on track to stick to the government’s roadmap, as we progress towards an ease in lockdown restrictions. With that in mind, it’s time to book your London taxi and head to some of these major events across the city!

1.     A Midsummer Night’s Dream – Shakespeare’s Globe

The world of theatre is finally returning, and we couldn’t be more excited. For many of us, the arts were what kept us going throughout lockdown – from unmissable theatrical live streams to watching our favourite film and TV shows. From the 19th of May, you can really live in the moment and enjoy one of the most talked about productions in show business.

Find out more about this event by visiting the Shakespeare’s Globe website.

2.     Hackney Record Fair

Did you pick up vinyl collecting as a hobby during lockdown? If so, then this is the event for you. Hackney Record Fair allows you to browse records of some of your favourite artists and proves to be the perfect way to discover new artists from independent labels. Make some room in your next playlist for some of your top finds and enjoy the DJ sets which will be on throughout the day.

If you’re needing to clean up some of your own records, there will be a service available to do so! Hosted on the 23rd of May at Abney Public Hall, find out more about this event by clicking here.

3.    World Meditation Day Concert

Looking to squeeze in the craziest experiences possible this month? Well, we’ve got one that probably wasn’t on your list – but totally worth adding! Celebrate World Meditation Day in the most unique way possible by attending Kings Place Halls meditation class which is also a live classical concert. You truly are getting the best of both worlds!

Hosted on the 23rd of May, book before it’s too late by visiting the following website.

4.    London Drag Assemble

If you’re an avid watcher of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, you don’t want to miss this one. Escape to Clapham Grand for an unmissable show hosted by lip-sync assassin and all-round QUEEN, Tayce! The production will welcome some of London’s biggest names in drag, including Barbs, Cara Melle, Margo Marshall, and much more!

5.    World’s Largest Italian Food Market

If you consider yourself the ultimate foodie, and can never decide between pizza or pasta, then it’s time to head down to the world’s largest Italian food market. Located in Broadgate, you can expect many of the indoor restaurants to open up on the 20th of May as lockdown restrictions ease. The venue itself has been in the works for three years and will not disappoint on your visit.

Whether you’re going to order everything on the menu at one of the restaurants, or browse the countless wines and cheeses, you’ll most certainly enjoy this experience. Visit their website here.

Those are just some of our recommendations for May – but we’d love to know what you have booked in the city. Make sure to let us know on our social media!
